About

In all his years working at some of the Bay’s top kitchens, Chef Frank knew he’d end up working for himself. Starting off his career in California and then expanding his horizons by apprenticing in multiple cities in Spain, Frank landed gigs on the line at Michelin Star restaurants such as Ame, quickly moving to the front of the house at Gary Danko. Although he appreciated all the skills he garnered in fine dining, he knew that he wanted to cook food with Aloha, meant for anyone and everyone.

Once Chef Frank moved to Oahu in 2018 and realized there was a lack of quality Hawaiian food in California, his wheels started turning. Upon returning to California during the pandemic, Frank knew that if people couldn’t travel to Hawaii, he could bring Hawaii to them through his Ono dishes.

Unco Frank’s is currently popping up at High Treason Wine Bar in San Francisco while Chef Frank looks for a permanent brick and mortar to give the growing Aloha spirited brand a place to call home.
